Liberal Democrat mayoral candidate Siobhan Benita has called for e-scooters to be legalized for use on roads and cycle lanes in London.

Benita believes that legalizing e-scooters could help reduce car use and promote a greener, zero-carbon future for the city.

She suggests implementing restrictions such as limiting their use to those over 18 and having 10mph speed limits near schools.

The call comes ahead of an announcement from the Department for Transport on whether it plans to legalize e-scooters, which are currently illegal on public roads and pavements.
