A survey by Halfords involving 2,000 adults found that nearly 40% believe electric scooters should be legalized for road use in the UK.

The majority of respondents expressed willingness to use e-scooters if they were legal, with half considering them for commuting purposes.

Halfords claims that e-scooters have the potential to revolutionize transportation, reduce pollution, and address congestion issues.

The study indicates a strong consumer demand for more sustainable travel options and a desire for UK laws to align with other countries where e-scooters are permitted.

Spokeswoman Ella Colley says: “This research shows that there is an undeniable consumer demand for more sustainable travel options like e-scooters and many people want the UK laws to catch up with the rest of the world.”
