A report by Common Wealth, We Own It, and Greenpeace UK suggests that London should eliminate private cars by 2030 to reduce congestion and pollution.

Despite being ranked among the top cities globally for public transport, London remains one of the most congested and polluted cities in the UK.

The report recommends replacing private cars with accessible alternatives through a TfL app, offering walking routes, free buses for Londoners, trams, Tubes, e-bikes, electric scooters, car shares, and e-rickshaws.

Transport for London (TfL) is investing £2.3bn to achieve 80% of journeys by walking, cycling, or public transport by 2041.

However, the RAC argues that many people require cars, with 72% of Londoners claiming they would struggle without their vehicles.
